Unyielding Safety Standards
Makani Kai Air's commitment to safety extends beyond the due-diligence it performs. We receive regular, unscheduled safety audits and hold ourselves to more rigorous flight and safety standards than are required by the FAA. We have a dedicated safety manager, are subject to both regular and unscheduled safety audits by independent auditors, schedule regular safety meetings with pilots and staff, and have clearly defined flight operating standards and weather minimums to provide safe and consistent day-to-day operations.
Further, as part of our Safety Management Program, we require our pilots to undergo regular recurrency training, attend outside professional safety management courses and other ongoing safety training. We have committed to the highest standards to ensure that each and every flight is safe, professional and enjoyable.
Our maintenance program is a recipient of the prestigious Platinum Safety Award, a program to improve safety by encouraging recommended practices that are known to enhance aviation safety.
Makani Kai Air is deemed an Air Agency Certificate by the Federal Aviation Administration. The designation ensures quality repair and maintenance under FAA supervision and adds to the credibility, quality and safety of our program.
The 145 repair station status represents more than a year of hard work, documentation and FAA scrutiny to make certain that the facility and mechanics comply with all federal regulations regarding airframe and powerplant maintenance and repair. The FAA now oversees where and how aircraft and engine parts are ordered; how those parts are tracked, kept in inventory, and ultimately used; overall record keeping; how mechanics are trained and other procedures.
Our stringent and unyielding commitment to passenger safety allows you to travel with confidence, so you can relax and enjoy our best-in-class service.
